Re: clearnace info Casino litter (Annie)

I'm so sorry to hear about Annie.   I don't know how many of you know that we have a dog that is almost 17 who has severe HD. Our vet says they are the worst hips he's ever seen. I figure it's best to wait till Ruth and John are back on the list to go into details. Gina, if you think it appropriate I would be happy to call and talk to them. I didn't get Katie X-rayed with her spay - I was going to wait till she's a year. Should I go ahead and get it done sooner? Gina - I want to remind you of a conversation we had a long time ago. After my last golden I'm pretty paranoid about health problems and we were talking about HD. You told me that there is NEVER a guarantee that it won't occur, no matter how careful the breeder is. I have known since then that it can always be a possibility. I'm so sorry about Annie and crossing my fingers for the rest of the litter.

I picked Katie up this morning and she's doing great!   I have a question for all of you that have gone through this. I was told only leash walking for the next 5-7 days. I figured day care was out for a while, but I was hoping to take her to a wooded trail where she is off leash and can run. Is the info I was given over cautious are do folks agree? I'm afraid I'm going to have a pretty bored antsy puppy on my hands....
