Re: [Testbed-admins] need advice regarding "SNMP GET failed"

Thanks Leigh,

I am a partner of Mohammed at LSU. We are working together on our first
testbed.

Here is some information I can complement for your reference.

Yes, we can ping cisco2 from boss. All our switches configuration are
through telnet from Boss. We have one Control and one Experiment (aka Data)
switch with same cisco 24 gi0/1-24 ports. OPS is connected to Control switch
and Boss is connected to both. The attachment is our physical topology
design. Our design is very simple because of a test environment. Currently,
we don't use the default vlan1 but created Vlan 2 for both Control and
Experiment switch. For Vlan 2, gi0/1-20 ports are statically assigned. And
we use port gi0/20 for connecting Control and Experiment switch. Thus, vlan
2 is for everything in control and experiment scenario. There are also 4
ports un-assigned.

The community string in Control switch is 'vlan1', and in Experiment switch
is 'vlan2'. But don't be confused, we just want to diff them from our cisco1
and cisco2 accordingly. Other are mentioned in Mohammed's previous email.
One thing I want to say is that the cisco2 seems to be customized for
something which I am not sure, because it is borrowed and everything works
fine before this problem.

Please help us if there is something wrong in our design or any
configuration. Thanks a lot.

Can you ping cisco2 from boss? Can you telnet to it? How are things
connected together on your Emulab? What vlans have you created on your
switches and what is in them. Before anyone on this list can help, you
need to provide some good details about your setup.

Here in Utah the staff is completely swamped, so it might be a long
time before anyone can offer much help. You might have to dig in
on your own if no one on the list can help.
