Re: Boomer's first turkey neck
Hi Deb,
Wow! This is great news! I'm so glad Boomer
enjoyed his turkey neck! Bogey has been raised on
BARF and still eats mainly turkey necks. He tries
to swallow most other things and when he does
that with chicken the results are anything but pleasant
for several hours!
We were able to get hen turkey necks for Bo when
he was little and they were much easier for him to
negotiate than the tom necks. Are those available to
you? We also had some luck with pork neck bones
and lamb shanks as he got to be four months or so--
both are available through our wholesaler in 30 # boxes.
I read both the Billinghurst books and found the Pups
book to have much more specific information re)
amounts to feed, supplements, etc. I'd be happy to
loan our copies if anyone needs them.
Hugs to Boomer--the lucky boy--and happy BARFing.
