Re: Dollar Photo Update

Hi Karin!

We introduced Dollar to the pool just last week at 10 weeks.  First by just holding her over the water and then putting her feet into the pool, then her legs, then we let her stand on the first step into the pool while talking to her (good girl!).  We have steps that go down into it and this helps a lot.  When she stands on the first step it goes up to just above her legs.  Goldens seem to automatically start kicking the minute those little legs hit the water!  LOL  They will be wary of it at first - that's very normal.  After Dollar's first introductions (a few days of doing the above exercises), my husband Ron took her into the pool with him and supported her while she swam.  Then he directed her over to the steps so she can start learning how she needs to get out.  Just take it slow and Milka will learn to love it too!

Don't forget to dry puppy's ears out with Epi Otic or some other highly recommended ear wash.  You don't want them to get ear infections.  I don't know if Gina has other recommendations?

Thanks for all of the updates and the photos.  The Casino pups are all so adorable!

What a cutie!!!!! Question--when and how did you introduce her to the pool?  I had Milka walk around our pool yesterday because the first day she seemed a little wary of it.
