RE: Brier name history

My intern is named Kaycee and she is watching the puppy progress closely.
The other day she came to me and said, you know they had a dog with my name
at Brier :) We had a good laugh over it. She's begging that I bring the
puppy into the office; actually about a dozen people are begging me about
it.....The pup's popularity is growing :)

Ok,

Kaycee: Foxfire's Frosting On The Kake, could not use puppy from hell as
her registered name but I wanted too... Kaycee came to me on Thursday
December 23, 1989 and boy was she sick. Of course I did not recognize that
she was ill and of course there were no vets open all weekend and back then
there were no ER's for dogs where I lived. She had: coccidia, giardia,
round worms, hook worms and whip worms. Needless to say she was not happy
at all but was a real trooper till Monday when I got her in to see the
vet. Her first few months of life necessitated a lot of medication and
fecal samples, some of these parasites are hell to deal with, and back then
I knew noting about parasites. At 7 months old Kaycee got Parvo and we
almost lost her. But she had the moxie to hang in there. By the way she
was fully vaccinated, this was a new strain of parvo at the time, [KF-11]
and her immune system was so compromised from everything else she had been
dealing with it was no wonder she contracted the parvo virus. You would
never know now though that she ever had a sick day... Her name tributes
her father who's call name is Frosty, btw, Frosty is like 14 and still
going strong I hear. Also her name is a play on puppy from hell, as she
was surely the frosting on the cake. Also she shined, like frosting on the
cake. We love our momma dawg Kaycee Anne, "Anne" as in Queen Anne... :-)))

More later,

Gina
