Hi everyone,

The information on feeding has definitely caused me to rethink diet.

Good Morning Gin and Bill,

Thanks for making an introduction to the list.  You are providing me an opportunity here to practice my list group etiquette. Everyone when this post goes to the archives under my address as the designator it shows by my addition to the title that I am welcoming a new member and am going to council on diet.  I did delete most of Gin message as I will comment on only diet here <g> after this post goes to the archives go see: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~stoller/brierpups/mail/

On diet:  Gin I am glad you are becoming aware that what we as a society has advocated as appropriate foods to feed dogs may be all wrong.  There are several of us on this list who can provide you some counseling on what we believe is the appropriate way to feed dogs, however I can not stress enough how important it is to educate yourself via books written by experts.  The program I have found to be the easiest to follow, is Bones And Raw Food (BARF):.  This program is detailed by Dr. Ian Billinghurst DVM of Australia and you can find a link to his web site on my site (Big Page Of Links) http://www.briergoldens.com/links.htm  under the heading Raw Feeding ect...  You can order Dr. B's books as well from this site.  I recommend that you order both books but read Give Your Dog A Bone (GYDAB) first, as does Dr. B stress you *need* to read this book first or you will not have a clear understanding of the principals. Book 2, Grow Your Pup's With Bones (GYPWB) title is a bit deceptive but well worth the read.  It acts here as a reference guide where GYDAB spells out the program or programme depending on where you learned "English".

Again, welcome and we look forward to seeing you on the 21st!
