Re: [Testbed-admins] Can not bring up the first node for a new Emulab site

Hi,

As of now, somehow the node(the old machine with P3 processor) is able to boot 'freebsd.newnode'(freebsd47.newnode) from Boss.(The new machine I have here with Core 2 processor could not boot it).
And it got to the prompt,
-------------------------------------
Attempting boot of:/tftpboot/freebsd.newnode
Loading /boot/defaults/loader.conf
\
FreeBSD/i386 (Amnesiac) (ttyv0)

login:
--------------------------------------
At this point, as the document said, the node info such as MAC address should already reported to the Boss(which program on boss will handle the messages sent by the node and which DB tables will be filled?'new_nodes' and 'new_interfaces'? Could you point me to the location of the program?). However, when I look at https://geni-emuhost.bbn.com/newnodes_list.php3 page, there is no node list there.

Thanks a lot,
Evan Zhang

Are you looking at the serial or VGA console on these machines, and
might the image be configured to use the one you're not looking at?
