RE: Alaska..No more:o)

Well, I must say that I too find Oregon to be GORGEOUS!  I’ve never been to Alaska… only “vicariously” through friends & photos!  It is hard for me to believe that come October 1st it will have been TWO years since I’ve been “home”!  I do miss the GREEN of Oregon… but not the rain!

I’d hoped to be able to make a long weekend trip up to OR before the end of this year.  Unfortunately, I found out that my sick leave did not cover my sinus surgery & time off I had last month.  ;-(  And, it subsequently ate up ALL my vacation time as well.  Which means I may not be getting paid for a good portion of our trip to New York and Pennsylvania that we leave for on Aug. 23rd.  Sucks!  I have a 27 year old step sister (Heidi) that lives in Gresham and has a 2 year old baby girl (Annabelle)… and I’m dying to come back and visit them!

Oh, the woes of being employed!  <g>

Well, I'm happy you survived Alaska, I spent twenty-four years there, and you should have seen when we went Moose or Caribou hunting, talk about mosquitos, I had a net over my head to avoid to swallow them.

Oh Oh Oh!!!! I did see a baby moose about a year old male.  Stopped the car and talked to him....  He knew I was from out of town I think, as he just looked at me like I had lost my mind.  Alaska is beautiful, however believe it or not I found the pace to be quite fast.  I think I prefer the slower pace of Oregon and truthfully I find OR just as beautiful as AK.
