80 degrees in Portland???? WOW!!! Nice weather for June!
I sure miss the green...
Not going to be real green for very much longer... It's suppose to be 90
today! BTW at 6:30 PM yesterday in Woodburnt it was 86!

Yup this is para normal, for what reason should a golden swim if there is
plenty of good solid ground and fun to be had? <s> Oh and the border
collie what is her excuse? Minus she is the most wonderful BC I have ever
met? Give Kip a extra hug from me!!! :-)))
One misconception to clear up on this regarding the intricate details of
the breed.... Goldens are primarily upland game bird dogs. No swimming
water in upland game retrieving normally... Sure they also try to double
as duck hunters and they can do a good job at that too but, primarily duck
hunting is also done in marshes or similar terrain, the need to swim a
lake, pond ect in normal hunting situations is not that common, though dogs
with a high drive for prey and a some training will go after game that is
afloat. Just ask SeaJay who is starting to enjoy his "vacation" at Gun
River... He's moved onto water retrieves this week. This he loves!!!!
Hopefully this fall SeaJay is going to go off with Chris and Sophie (Casino
litter) and show her how it's done and Chris's buddies too! The real deal
real hunting... Chris of course has gotten a lot of flack from his hunting
buddies about getting a swamp collie. :-)))
