A Digest of sorts

Morning All,

1. I am glad to hear that Buster was found but not that he has gone to the
happy hunting grounds. But at least Deb Roth and family have
closure. Very sad yes but closure. Death is not my best topic right now. :-(

2. I just got a book as a gift from Judy that I want to recommend you all
take a look at: "Purely Positive Training" companion to competition by:
Sheila Booth. I am just into this book a few pages but as I read I see
you're faces and your dog's faces. <smile> Sheila is training GSD, and
Malenoise <sp> (Belgian Sheep Dogs sort of) but don't let that detour
you. The GR is very adaptable to positive training... Probably best
serves the breed in my opinion. Not that you as well don't need to be firm
and set your position but give it a look see! Once Deb Roth has had a
chance to recover I will invite her to join our group and I am sure she
will agree that positive training is the way to go with ANY breed. Deb is
currently training a Portuguese Water Dog and this is a breed that is quite
up smart and very willing as well.

3. Boarding at Brier, we are currently all booked up for the
Holiday's. Unless you have an emergency we just don't have room until
after the first of the year. Part of the reason for this is: I received a
call from a family who has 3 dogs, one Brier two non. who have an emergency
situation that is going to require us to help out for about 4 weeks. If
your booked in no problem but please understand it's hard for me to say
no... <smile> We will squish for an emergency though! Always! Plus Judy
sometimes has room too: 503-647-5221 and enjoys seeing the grand kids as
much as we do.

4. Next month on Dog Read a list group that reviews books and has the
author as a guest for the month the topic will be BARF and Dr. Billinghurst
will be the guest. I highly encourage all of you to read GYDAB this month
and join in or at least lurk on the list. You first need to sign up
under e groups at: http://www.egroups.com/elerts Then go to:
http://www.egroups.com/group/dog_read-l Get registered. I am on this list
this month the Author is Pat Hastings on puppy development/grading
litters. Most of you would not be interested in this topic but as a
breeder (your breeder) It's one I should hold an interest in.

5. Puppies: We have a couple of litters coming up on this list. IIene
has puppies now and a litter due in a couple of weeks. I think all of her
puppies are spoken for? IIene? However Judy has puppies coming due to be
born mid December. She has both field and show litters coming. If you or
some one you know might be interested in these litters/breeders I do
endorse them both. Of course we think we are as well having puppies here
too! Will know in a few weeks, Gidget SeaJay.

Well that's all for now! Hug the kids!

Gina
