Wag the Dog

A dogs tail is rather interesting if you think about it. For one, Maple and
Torrey are vastly different in the "expressiveness" of thier tails. Torrey
is constantly wagging, but with lots of variations, related of course, to
how he is feeling. About the only time it stops is when I pretend to
through the tennis ball; he goes into statue mode waiting the the ball to
fly over his head. Maple very rarely wags her tail. It is almost impossible
to tell anything by looking at her tail.

To wit: We came home the other night after being away for about 3 hours,
and after a split second glimpse of Torrey we knew something was wrong.
It was all in his tail :-)

It took just a few minutes to find the remains of the 1/2 pint tub of
Salmon spread that we had left on the counter. Not a molecule of Salmon to
be found on it. I know, we can't expect a golden to resist Salmon spread.

Hopefully we will figure out a way to read Maple as well as we can read
Torrey!
