solid lead & herb dip

Hi again....

Geesh - I know another note in one day, but I just have to tell you what I
found & thank Gina and Deb for their notes!

Gina - I bought a couple of swivel, snap rings at the pet store. I'll buy
the rest of the supplies tonight, make one and try it tonight. I called my
mom & she was going to bring the crate to work to send today - IRONIC! She
has a picture of Monza that she wants to send you, also. I'll put something
in there about this solid lead. It looks like a heeling or target stick
with a clip on the end of it. I've been searching for a picture on the web,
but haven't found anything yet. For everyone else, it's basically a stick
in replacement of the lead used when working on the heel command. It's held
in your right hand while the pup is on the left and you use your left hand
to control (tap back) if he/she should start to lunge, just as you would
with your left hand on a lead. It's great because not only does it keep the
pup from lunging, but it also keeps them the correct distance from you.

Unfortunately, I was out at the holistic pet place when Deb wrote reminding
me of her earlier posting that included an essential oils recipe for
bugs....ugh! I'll try that the next time. I picked up some "Cloud Nine"
herbal dip, and will pack it along with some Skin-So-Soft. This dip sounds
rather interesting: oils of tea tree, rosemary, sage, cedarwood,
peppermint, sweet orange, eucalyptus, citronella, and pine needle. The lady
at the holistic place also recommended garlic tablets from a health food
store. Not too sure about that? Although, considering how bad the bugs are
in Swampville Northern MN, I might try it myself!

I can't remember if Sojourner Farms European-Style pet food mix was
mentioned when we were all corresponding about food ? The holistic place
HIGHLY recommends this stuff that is mixed with raw meat. It's a natural
diet made easy, apparently. All I have is their brochure and know nothing
about it (maybe it's lousy stuff), but I thought since they were so adamant
about its greatness I'd mention it to all of you. www.sojos.com

Monza's going to get a rock in his food tonight. The little bugger better
not have a flashback to the beach and try to dig it out!
