Morning All,
So nice to hear that we have puppies in classes! Lyn I have never seen the
device you mentioned. When you have time would you please ask your trainer
what name these are marketed under, so I can get an idea. Could you maybe
send me a drawing and a materials list when you send the crate back?
On the food gulping: Sorry this one is genetic, Scarlette eats kibble so
fast that some times she eats it twice. When we fed kibble I tried several
things with her: (now that we feed BARF she chews her food) get and over
sized bowl and find a huge rock (one they can't eat) and place it in the
bowl which makes it hard for them to get at the food. We have also soaked
the food to mush and flattened it down in the bowl which makes it harder to
grab at. Feeding elevated is always recommended and these guys are tall
enough now to start that with and it might help with the gulping of
air. Easy way to make a feeder is to take a heavy 5 gal bucket and saw a
hole in the bottom to hold the bowl. Turn it up side down and there you
go. Of course you can also buy designer ones at pet stores. Or I guess
you could paste pictures on the bucket too and call it art...
Carolyn, The class you in sounds very interesting. I for one will be very
interested in following you and Ruby Rose through your adventures in
training. I won't mind the brags one bit... :-)))
Hey IIene building some upper body strength on the show dogs with harness,
not a bad idea huh? Perhaps we stumbled onto something by
accident.... Mushing goldens???
