No need to apologize. I think Gina is trying to moderate the discussion a
bit with the kinds of rules that almost all email list serves enforce.
While we all care about each other's pups, the basic rules are that minute
to minute updates are not as compelling to read as summaries. As the volume
of mail traffic grows, it becomes harder to find the time to read all the
messages, and many people just start to ignore the traffic alltogether.

Another standard rule is that one and two sentence replies almost never
need to go to the list, but usually should go to the sender of the original
message. I think we all know what kinds of messages I am talking about
("Thats really funny" or "Thats Cool!"). This keeps the volume of traffic
down, and ensures that (raw?) meaty stuff mostly gets posted to the list.

Now, I get some blame for this. I have the list set up so that your email
programs reply to the list by default, instead of to the sender. I
generally do that to encourage people to post to the list. I can change
that if people want me to. In that case, you just need to change the
address when you hit reply if you think its a message that should go to the
entire list instead of to the sender.
