Thanks for the great info Gina. It has been hot here
too--but not into the 90's yet thank heaven. No A.C.
so we have to retreat to the basement. Bogey still
wants to play fetch even when we are too hot to
throw the ball. Hard to keep them from being active!
I just learned a great trick for giving dogs pills--you
probably already know it but thought I'd share just in
case. Coco is having lots of trouble with arthritis--
not made any better by having to keep up with Bogey.
She takes an aspirin and glucosamine every day. I
use American cheese slices to wrap the pills in and
they go right down. Just sort of make an envelope
for them, seal it up and she just swallows them.
Also, re) the mushrooms in the yard. We learned the
hard way last year that they can be dangerous. Coco
was eating toadstools and wound up with liver problems
that almost killed her. The vet thinks it was the toxins
in the toadstools. She's still here, thank heaven, but
we sure do keep the shrooms under control. Jim Baker
of natural gardening fame recommends sprinkling powdered
laundry soap on the lawn. Doesn't hurt the grass or the
dogs but does seem to keep the toadstools from coming up.
We're thinking of you and all your babies, Gina. And thanks
Leigh for the virus warning. Now, I'm going to ponder this
naked chicken dance thing and thank the stars I am not a
breeder...

Lyn,
So sorry to hear you and Monza had a night from "hell" glad he is feeling
better today. Sounds to me like he did get into something. Don't know
what your weather is like way over there but here we are sweltering with
temps in the high 90's and high humidity. All the dogs are not as
"chipper" and less energetic. Haus (being a black dog) and TRiX being a
