Deb,

Be careful with the lamb go slow with it it's very rich, my guys all got
the squirts from it.

Yes Gina did BARF feed the litter... But,,,, when the puppies got sick she
thought it was the diet at first and tried all sorts of "remedies" to no
avail and missing the real issue giardia out of ignorance of never having
affected puppies. When it all shook down with everything that was going
on Scout now known as Hogan got sooo sooo sick Gina threw in the BARF towel
and went back to feeding the puppies kibble.

She has also had a slight change of plans with regard to puppies and
feeding. While she thinks BARF is the best way to feed a puppy/dog when
your able to monitor it with say one or two it's one thing but 12 is
another and while she is always willing to mentor anyone on BARF feeding
and is feeding her own 12 dogs BARF she has decided that it's just best to
be "conventional" at this time with regard to litters. Hind sight is that
puppies do get things and it's best if they are on a steady diet so when
they go to their new homes with all the other challenges that come up for
the new parents diet needs to be simple and a constant so you can monitor
"problems" A couple of examples are:

Lyn was having problems with Monza which turned out to be a urinary
irritation border line infection from the metronitzole. If she was BARF
feeding him we might have all been saying to her: Oh Lyn you messed up the
diet. Poor Lyn got so much flack from Gina on so many things due to
frustration and lack of communication (Lyn read the manual) <grin> Lyn is
hardly speaking to Gina at this point. Secondly Maple with her
coccidia. Again Gina would have said Leigh/Renee you muffed up the
diet... It's not easy to roll over on this with what Gina has learned over
the past year but some time you just have to.

Not everyone on this list or in this world has the time or patience to
put into what it really takes to BARF feed. While Gina does encourage each
of you to consider it and study it she does understand it's not for
everyone. TRiX is eating dog food (for now) even Haus is eating dog food
(for now). Haus has been a real challenge in the food department. GSD's
are not known to be good eaters. He was so thin at one point the vet even
thought he might have auto immune problems. :-( Gina tried BARF with him
and he liked it but couldn't get enough food into him before he would fill
up and quit eating.

Oh BTW, Boomer is a Timberline dog and he was always fed kibble... Only
spent one night here. :-)

Whops here she comes, got to go,

Rocky
who won't eat BARF anymore I would rather have junk food :-) Oh hey did
any one go see me on that young girls web site?
