Personally we have NO carpet except in our bedroom.  I won't wear slippers 
hate things on my feet it's a California Californiaa (for IIene) thing.  I 
can't handle cold floors first thing in the morning either, so I won't take 
up the carpet in the bedroom but the rest of the house never again.  No 
carpet!  It's a multiple dog thing...
