Hi all,
I hope Gina would agree with this. It is safest to wait until all your
vacs have been administered! Yes, it does cut out some of that early
socialization, and to my and other breeders surprise, they do allow them
to start puppy classes after only one vac. I will never take a puppy to
class that young, because you don't know those other people, and if they
vaccinated on time, or "who" they got their puppy from and what kinds of
yucky stuff their puppy might have been exposed to. Now, this is the
safe way. Me being the other breeder in this group, has had enough sick
puppies and stress and worries, and huge vet bills, I don't take the
chance. In Lyn's case, her puppy was interacted with friends dogs, that
she knows are healthy and are up to date on vaccines. This is the safest
way to go, until you have your boosters complete. Of course, us
breeders, knowing how fast these illnesses are spread, can't even stand
taking our puppies to the vets office. God knows what lurks there!! Yes,
we are ultra safe, but just think about bringing home a virus, and there
is at least ten other dogs that will get sick too. Vet bills!! That's
the word of the day.
