Vet Gen swabs eye study

Hi you guys!

By now I would assume you have all received your swabs, (One and Casino
litters only) I heard from Kathrina in Wasilla AK that she has. Kathrina
was also concerned about what if Sam has posterior cataracts, what could
she do?

Please check out these links for more in depth information on cataracts but
also know, 99.9% of these cataracts mean nothing to the individual dog. We
only don't breed affected dogs of these particular cataracts because we do
not know what might mutate from breeding them. But as noted before, if we
get in place DNA markers a test WILL be available to us and we can then
move forward with an educated view on breeding or not breeding affected
dogs and or carriers.

Also to note, share, Kathrina and Sam are doing great, they are in
obedience training and Kathrina is entertaining the idea of agility and
perhaps going onto compete with Sam in obedience and possibly
agility. They start a beginning agility class next week. Sam is one of
the two boys from the "One" litter. Sam and Max.

Hope everyone is well, we are all doing great here getting ready for the
International shows, with Lucy and Ditto in November. I was going to show
TRiX but she has come into season and has blown her coat, looks very puppy
like and not mature enough to take in the big dog classes that she would
have to be shown in in the UCI forum. We will shoot for her to show in UCI
in May of 2002.

DiTTo has her National title but is going for her International BA CH and
I have her entered once again in Best Bred By competition. Some of you may
recall that SeaJay has two Reserve Best In Show Adult awards in the bred by
competition and DiTTo has 1 in the Baby competition. We hope to get a
second on DiTTo to compliment her name... Get it ditto...

Reo is a joy as are all of my dogs but the puppy of focus only because she
is so darn special! Isn't she Judy! Reo unlike DiTTo is not ready to go
to UCI shows, she is way too long in the leg and very gangly looking, but
still all in all a very wonderful pup...

Gawd I love these dawgs!
