Ya know, not to put a damper on this subject, but being a tragedy just
happened to my sister, I want to share about feeding large amounts of
kibble at any given time.
My sisters German Shepherd bloated, and died. One thing that we learned
about this is that they shouldn't be fed large amounts of food at once.
I (still a kibble feeder but switching to raw) have always fed my kibble
twice a day. I have always done it for good weight control, but now
there is another reason to feed twice daily if you feed kibble, and to
watch how much you give. One cup of kibble triples in size when it gets
mixed with the stomach juices and fluids. Of course Flint River Ranch
says their kibble won't do this. I do not know about Canine Caviar. A
good way to find out is to get it wet with some boiling water, let it
soak and see what size it is when all the fluid has absorbed.
