I am trying to use Dell PowerConnect 3524P switch for the experimental network.This switch is not on your supported switches list, but it supports SNMP.Do you have any experience with this switch? Any significant work is required?
Hi. I do not think anyone has experience with it. It is a fair amount of work to add a new switch since it requires writing a device specific library. If you have the Emulab source code, you should look at tbsetup/snmpit_cisco.pm to see what is needed. It is possible that the dell switch is very close to one of the supported (cisco, nortel, hp, foundry) switches and that it will straightforward. There is a library in that directory for each of the aforementioned switches. Lbs
