No, the install scripts are not set up to be rerun after
installation.

Typically, you want to follow these instructions:

You are not updating your software, but you still use the same general
approach.

The update process will not alter the DB. Depending on your changes to
the defs file, you might have to make some changes by hand.

Also, you might have to hand edit your named setup, plus a few other
config files.

So, maybe describe what changes you need to make to your defs file and
hopefully someone on the list can offer their own experiences.
