Re: [Testbed-admins] Problem with Intel quad-port NIC drivers and images.

We're attempting to use Intel quad-port NICS (Gigabit VT) on our

image.

On the FC6 side, we've compiled basically every variant of driver
available from Intel (e1000, e1000e, and igb-1.3.19), with no luck.
We get the following error from modprobe.:

e1000e: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module
FATAL: Error inserting e1000e
(/lib/modules/2.6.20.6emulab/kernel/drivers/net/e1000e/e1000e.ko):
Invalid module format

We've pulled kernel-devel that matches the kernel and kernel-headers,
but still no dice.

[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa |grep kern
kernel-headers-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6
kernel-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6
kernel-devel-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6

The kernel in use was (evidently) put together by johnsond:

pc10# pwd
/mnt/lib/modules/2.6.20.6emulab
pc10# ls -al

lspci output looks like this if helpful:

It should be added that this lspci output shows an unrecognized interface on the card, and a recognized interface from the motherboard.
