Hi Gina,
Hope all is going well for you. Boomer is heading in to get neutered, or
noodled as Abby says. I am having his hips and elbows x-rayed. I have not
registered him with the AKC yet and so the vet did'nt think they could
send the film on to OFA to get rated. What should I do?
Hi Kari - ET anyone else that might not have registered their dog in a
timely manner ( with in 12 months of the application date on the form you
have from me) :-)
You can submit to OFA with out registration. Use his litter number:
SN987067/05 which is his registration number too. Be sure to mail me a
copy of the report. You have all the other data for the form or have your
vet call me if they have a hole in the application for evaluation by
OFA. *I* do want information to go to OFA when ever possible.
If you want to register Boomer and you have lost his application I can as
his breeder writhe a letter of explanation and request a second application
be sent to me but there are costs involved in this.
1. $15.00 for the additional application to register.
2. Since Boomer is now 17 months old when you go to register him there will
be an additional fee to register him probably $60.00.
In this case personally unless you see that you are going to be entering
Boomer in some form of competition at any point in his life ( obedience,
agility, ect.) I would not bother to pay all these additional fees...
However Everyone - I do think it is important to register your dogs with
AKC to avoid such issues.
Kari - go stand in the corner for 10 minutes! :-)
Hug's to everyone!
