Chelsea is 6

Our baby girl, Chelsea turned 6 yesterday!  We are celebrating today though; a I had to work yesterday.  We are taking the 4 golden fuzz buts swimming in our pool in a little while.  And later today they will all get homemade waffles with whipped cream as her special treat!  They got the same for Jake’s birthday two weeks ago.

Chels is our goof-girl that is the Supreme Alpha Princess of the Universe!!  We love & adore her like there is no tomorrow!

And I will always be eternally grateful to Gina & can’t thank her enough, each birthday that Chels has.  If it were not for Gina making a very wise & perhaps difficult decision the evening before Chelsea’s litter was supposed to go home… there is a possibility that I may not have my baby girl today.

To make a long story as short as possible; I bonded very intensely with Chelsea from the age of 3 weeks, yet there was another family that also wanted her.  I was “third pick” in line for a female puppy & there were only 3 girls in her litter. Up through & until the evening before the big “go home day”, I did not know if I were going to get my little silver ribbon pup or not.  I remember crying endlessly the day before, as I just knew that it was destiny that she was meant to be my puppy!  Gina was not actually Chelsea’s breeder (as she was not the owner of the Sire or the Dam).  Correct me if I’m wrong, Gina… but I think the terminology is that you were “co-breeder of record” with the AKC & it had something to do with Gina mentoring Chelsea’s breeder.

But in the end, everything turned out how it was meant to be.  In honor of Gina’s decision – we kind of gave Chelsea’s AKC registered name because of a six week puppy picture of where Gina was handling each pup in “stacking positions” on a grooming table.  Gina was wearing a red t-shirt with white lettering that said “Born to Break Hearts”.  So, Chelsea became “TK Born to Break Hearts”.  And she has been our little heartbreaker ever since!  She is a registered pet therapy dog & always touches and warms the hearts of all the patients she visits!

So, THANK YOU GRANDMA, GINA… with all of our hearts!
