Re: on a somber note

Hi All,

Thank you Gina for your kind note and for
talking to me last night about this horrible
disease.  We went to the oncologist today
and the news was not good--either stage
5 lymphoma or leukemia that has spread
to her lymph nodes.  Either way the prog-
nosis is grim--even with chemo.  We have
chosen to give Coco prednisone to maybe
reduce the symptoms for now and to make
her more comfortable.  We might have a
few months--she is really a fighter and has
been through much in her 12 years.  The
really good news is that we have had 12
wonderful years with her--a real gift.  We
do appreciate your support as we try to
give her the gift of a pain-free ending to
her life.

Gina--I'm sorry if we spurred your melan-
choly mood.  Thank you for posting the
tribute to Rocky and the letter from Rhonda.
Coco won't be going the chemo route so
we won't be participating in the study.  I'm
so glad research is being done.  I just hope
with all my heart that none of us has any
reason to participate in the future.

Hugs from us, Lori and crew
