Travel to Europe
Well, just wanted to
let everyone know that we are back from France and Milka had a great time!!!! She did
really well on the flights even though they were long--it was longer coming
back at 7 1/2 hours with 2 hour arrival at the airport before. There
was a Swiss Bernese on the flight back and she was stressed and scratching and
just not in good shape. THANK GOODNESS Milka is used to her crate. She
sleeps in it each night and travels in one in the car so she was just the expert
at the airport and remained calm. I'll email pictures of her when I
get them developed. She could go almost everywhere (no grocery stores and no
caves--we were in the region with the famous Lascaux cave paintings drawn by man
over 10,000 years ago--I think she was ok missing those tours). She slept next
to our table as we ate at restaurants, she slept in the middle of the canoe, and
even went to museum parks. When I asked the woman at the museum park if dogs
were allowed, she looked at me as if I were crazy and said "of course."
Needless to say, is there anyway we get the US to be like Europe about
dogs?!!
The only down side to the trip is that Milka got used
to eating fresh French bread each day :) Karin
Also, FYI, the Paris airport is not good for dogs even
though the French love dogs. There is NO grass anywhere right around the
airport so we had to drive to some gas stations close by. Just a point to
remember that each airport is different.
