Re: Quick Mich update...

Dear Yanna and Rick - my thoughts and prayers are with you during this unsure period. I look forward to hearing how things are progressing. Give Mich a big HUG from the Timberline K-9 Krew :~)

First of all, thank you so much to everyone for your good thoughts & support.

Adam (our Vet) called back late yesterday afternoon with the first of Mich s test results.  His Platelets were down to 15,000 & they should be around 200,000.  Not good, but the vet said most dogs with this problem are usually below 5000 which is really life threatening I guess.  We started him on mega doses of Prednisone yesterday afternoon & Rick got up at 3:00 this morning to give him his 2nd dose.

So, as to be expected he is drinking a lot more water than normal and having to go outside to pee a lot more.  We don t have a dog door, so we are making sure to take him out a lot more often.  Sometime during the night he obviously didn t let us know, as he had an accident in the house.  Poor boy, he has NEVER ever had an accident.

We feel so helpless, but all we can do is wait & watch and see.  We should be getting some more of the test results back today.  We ll keep everyone posted&
