Karin,

I think if you search the archives for this list you will find some info
on poop eating you can share with your friend.  However is short
picking it up as fast as she can is really the only thing she can
do.  Dog's eat poop their own, other dogs, other animals because
it's in their biological make up to do so, it's a natural thing, more
primal or dominate instinct in some is the best way I can describe
it.  There are products on the market that claim to be helpful in
detouring this but from what I understand from those who have tried they
have not been all that successful. We have a couple of dogs who will
occasionally do this and a couple that relish it and we just try to pick
up and say no...  No normally to no avail or can get you a prize
delivered to hand so to speak with a smile...  NOT!
