So Gina - Katie comes there for a couple of weeks
and I'll bring home a dog who will eat my house and chase us with
knives?
Should I reconsider???..... :-)
I can answer that with another didee, copied from
the breeders list today.
She came into our lives as a pup
Pure joy right from the start.
She
walked right into our yard and house;
From there, into my heart.
She
chewed her share of shoes and chairs
And broke some other stuff.
At
times I got real angry
I know I was too gruff.
Then her shining eyes
would gaze at mine
And she'd wave that happy tail
My anger would
evaporate-
Beside such love, seem pale.
From one adventure to the
next
My beloved dog would bound
Live every moment to the hilt
Savour
every sight and sound.
Some things didn't go her way-
Like bee
stings on the nose;
A trip where she'd be left behind
Or doors I'd have
to close.
All these things she took in stride;
No grudge she'd ever
hold.
No conditions on her love
My dog's heart was pure gold.
As
years went by her pace slowed down
Time raced by way too fast
But still
she lived each moment full
As if it were her last.
Then one day my
dog passed on
Beyond the earthly veil.
I heard no sound of protest
as
On this adventure she set sail.
Even this she took in stride
A
natural turn of fate.
Although she loved me and this earth
She feared
not heaven's gate.
We shared so much, my dog and I
I learned so much
from her.
I don't think wisdom comes in words
I think it comes in
fur.
