The program at Maclern was shut down recently, lack of funding. :-(  But I 
can try to find the director.  Basically what Joan did was to have a space 
designated as a "kennel" and the inmates (they call them students)  built 
the runs with the help of volunteer trades people and donated materials 
from the community.  She then adopts dogs from local humane societies and 
the "students" work with the dogs rehabbing and getting them ready for 
placement.

I will try to track Jona down she is no longer at Maclern.
