Strong pup's: Strong willed yes. :-) Strong physical, pulling on the
leash. Disobedient un interested in listening to commands, would rather go
eat the daisy's...
Funny note on this is I was visiting with a good friend this afternoon who
has two goldens and a lab. The two goldens are one show lines one field
lines. The show line golden has more titles than I can sight a Canadian
Obedience Trial Championship, American UD, Senior hunter, just missing one
leg for her master. She has a lot of drive and is very smart. The field
golden is working in the field trial arena and holds I think his Senior
hunter in hunt test arena. The lab is as well working in the field trial
arena. Anyway these folks have considered raising a pup for Guide Dogs For
The Blind. They went to a meeting and were told that all new puppy raisers
were required to start with labs as they are easier to train. This is
probably true for task training and you will find task training a bit more
trying with golden pup's, but when it's all said and done you will have a
nice dog that gives you a laugh too. :-)))
