Obedience Training

Hi All,
Want to tell you I started the local Parks & Recreation Department's Dog 
Obedience: Novice yesterday. ($49 + $8 materials fee)  The first class is 
without dogs as it's more paperwork and orientation.  I will go with Ruby 
Rose once a week for the next 7 weeks.

Well, I have already worked with her on a 30' lunge line.  I have taken her 
to a local park just 4 times and I'm awe struck on how much difference it has 
made already.  You don't have to believe me...but why would I lie to you 
about a thing like that.  Ha!

This week they suggest the following protocol:

Day 1 and 2 30' lunge line
Day 3           20' lunge line
Day 4 and 5 10" lunge line
Day 6           No lunge line...use 6' leash

I was having trouble getting enough quick direction changes and distance to 
be able to correct her.  I'm considering going to the 10' line tomorrow.  
Anyway, I'll try to keep you posted on the components of the course.  You 
will just have to suffer through my brags though.  

So far, I would strongly recommend this training.  Carolyn
