Re: Camping

Carol,

Please let me know where you are planning on camping.   Riley,
Kim, and I would very much like to meet you guys.  I work up at Timberline so it should be very easy to find you if you are still planning to go.  I am sure Riley and Hunter would love to see each other and find out what's new.  Our home number is 541-387-4766 and my office number is 503-622-0714.  We look forward to hearing from you.
Take Care,
Brad & Kim

Hello all, we made it back from another camping trip with no problems.  We went to Wiciciup Reservoir about 30 miles out of Bend, OR.  A great place to swim, fish and let the dogs and kids run!! The water temp is great, about 74 degrees!! Hunter was a stick chasing fool!! He even brought them back about 98% of the time, he swims so fast!! He can beat Shaun by about a full human body length.  He thought it was really fun to let Austin "water ski" behind him.  He would swim out to where Shaun and Austin were, then go in front of Austin and flop his tail in his face, so Austin grabbed hold one time and Hunter very quickly took him to shore.  I am not sure if he was worried that Austin was in the deep water, or if he really liked dragging him to shore.  He kept doing it, so he must have enjoyed it.  He was the hit of the campground as usual.  He pranced around with his nose in the air and all the attitude to go with it!  He is getting to be a pain in the boat!! The bobbers go out and so does he retrieving them!! We are NOT complaining!! We wanted a fetching fool and I don't care what it is!!  You should see him with the birds!! All we have to say is "BIRRRDEEE" and he jumps to attention with his eyes to the sky, when he spots them it is all he can do to control himself!! We were walking along the shore, and he spotted some very lost sea gulls.  He freaked!! kept looking to me for the signal we use, so I said "fetch it up" very quietly.  In to the water he went like a maniac!! Straight toward the birds, then of course they flew away.  He came back very upset, and I had a few feathers waiting for him so I gave them to him and he was happy as could be!!   He is really going to be the Hunter we plan for!!

Some guy offered Shaun $2000.00 for him when he saw him going ape about the birds in the sky.  Shaun of course said no way and was paranoid the rest of the trip that someone was going to steal him.
We kept him by our side the whole time, but I have never had anyone want to by our dog before!! Very weird if you as me, to ask someone if they want to sell their pet.  We have friends that have had their yellow lab stolen, so keep an eye on your babies!! they are gorgeous, we know that but they are also extremely smart and I suppose that people will stoop to stealing to have a good dog.  Very sad.

Hunter has been sleeping ALL DAY!! Trying to make up for the exhausting 5 day trip with very few naps during the day!!

Just thought I would throw this out, we are going camping the 18, 19, and 20th on Mt Hood.  At Clear lake or Timothy lake, if any of you would like to meet up there for a picnic or camp with us it would be really fun and for those of us that live in the Portland area, not to far for a day trip.  It would be great to let the dogs swim together.  Troy and Kim, you guys are the closest to that area, We would love to see Riley!!  If you know of a less populated lake in that area we are not set on the lakes above.

Well, I better get going, I have 300 Doug fir seedlings that are in a desperate need of a drink of water!! I don't want to loose them to this heat!
