RE: Dog Jokes
What bothers me the most is that none of my machines with late model Norton
AV detected the virus ... they just detected and warned that there was
something trying to execute. Do you know the name of this virus or is this,
perhaps, a brand new one???

Yes, but with a virus attached to this one too. Same virus that came around
last time on Lyn's message.
Note that this paricular virus consists of embedded Javascript in the
message. No idea what it does; too early in the morning to read Javascript
without coffee. Its not an attachment, but instead is just part of the
message itself that is interpreted by the mail reader (much as HTML is).
Typically, your mail reader will be configured to *not* execute Java
contained in email and news. However, it is an option and you can turn it
on/off in the preferences menu of your web browser or mail reader. It is
very bad to have it on. Make sure you turn it off! I know how to do it for
Netscape, and I can figure it out for Internet Explorer. Anything else you
are on you own ...
