Snow trip
Good Morning All,
We had a blast yesterday! We loaded up the car with K-9's and headed off
to meet up with Brad and Riley up on Mt. Hood. There was SNOW! Not a lot
but enough to let the dogs enjoy. Rocky had a little trouble with the
elevation so we didn't let him romp much. But Scarlette Twister Meg
Gidget and of course TRiX had lots of fun. Meg got out for a leash walk
only. Gidget Scarlette and TRiX took the hike with Riley up to her
"private" snow park and I forgot the camera so no snow pictures. I was not
going to climb down that mountain with my non traction tennis shoes to
retrieve it I had a hard enough time just keeping my footing to stand
still... I did get a couple of shots of Riley going through her
paces: Sit, down, shake with *both* paws and roll over. Will down load
later in the week.
Riley is a midget compared to TRiX who looks more like an older brother
than a litter mate... Both pup's really enjoyed each other and gravitated
to playing together, letting the bigger dogs do their own thing. Was way
to cute to see them try to push each other off the chosen rock of snow to
claim Queen of the hill. TRiX ran up to some lady up on the hill and just
took the glove right off of her hand and ran off with it... Brad and
George tackled her down and made her give it back... Remember I was
holding my own just being able to stay standing.
Riley almost went for a sled ride. There was a little boy with a sled
and when he got to the top of Riley's hill she pounced on him and went
right to the bow of his sled. Brad to the rescue again... Speaking of
Brad if you ever need some one to toss the ball he's your man, boy does he
have an arm! Scarlette fetched till her feet started bleeding and didn't
even want to stop then. She is fine and by the time we got to Hunters
house was rested up ready to go again.
We headed down to the valley to have dinner with Carol & Shaun, oh my I am
still full! Crab they caught at the coast this weekend, bacon wrapped
steaks, cheese bread, salad, and strawberry short cakes... Way too much
food CAROL! <smile> Hunter was asleep when we got there and when I called
his name and called him babyness he woke up and just came flying! He and
TRiX had a blast. Hunter too showed off his "trix" showed us he knows how
to sit and down and got a couple of shakes in. Not near as many as Riley
who is really a puncher just like her mom... He has a beautiful home and a
yard to die for, two acres of dog safe playground surrounded by many more
of just wide open space. A lovely home that Shaun and Carol have
completely remodeled with their own four hands. Shasha was a bit un nerved
by fire works off in the distance and spent most of her time in the house
but she is such a love so gentle with the puppies... The rest of our crew
were in and out of the truck playing ball with Austin and just generally
had a dog day full of fun...
So our 4th was great, hope the rest of you had a nice day too. Pictures
later, I have to play ketch up today... Rocky looks good and Scarlette is
barking at the lost and found by us turkey (live with feathers) living in a
kennel right now... Long story there for another post...
