Lori:
I was wondering, since your kids were about the
same age as mine when you got your pup, How did you explain the human vs. dog
rules so they could understand it?? I have talked with Austin (6yrs.) and
he understands the concept, but Krista (3yrs.) does not. Just looking for
a little info on a kids level.
Thank you to everyone for their advise, it is so
great to have help in raising these little guys. I might have been a
little upset with the situation last night. He walked around with his tail
between his legs after the crate and went up to Krista and rolled over on his
back in front of her. She just walked away and I think that hurt his
feelers but I think it might have helped. Last night we ate our dinner out on
the grass, this was before all the posts. Shaun refused to let him get
near Krista while she ate. He growls at Shaun the first two times then he
just tried to sneak to her, Everytime he was shoved away with a very firm NO!!!
After about 25 times he figured it out and he went on the deck and slept while
we finished eating, As soon as we went in the house he was picking up the
leftovers out of the grass. I don't think he found as much as he wanted
but too bad puppy boy!!
I also, would have never thought of feeding him
last, he has always been first. This changed at breakfast today.
Again he was bent out of shape but he waited. He has always been the first
to go out the door. It is amazing the wealth of knowledge that is brewing
in this group. Thanks again
Hey Gina, Congratulations!! It was 7 years for
Shaun and I on June 5th!! (12 total). We bought us something very special
to celebrate our day.......His name is Hunter!!!!
Have a great weekend everyone, Hope the weather is
a wonderful where you are as it is in Oregon today.
