Waiting and thoughts on more than 1 golden
Hi Carolyn,
It's so hard to wait isn't it? Waiting to 'go out' with Rosie about drove me
nuts, then the same with Sophie, and now with Boomer I'm just plain too
tired to think about taking him anywhere, lol! I have to tell you, 3 goldens
would be a snap IF the first two accepted the 3rd. In my pack Rosie is
gentle and sweet and careful with him. She's teaching him the ropes, what
grass to eat, how to play, when to leave Rosie's bone alone, lol, how to
chase balls.. in general she's as good with him as she was with Sophie and
her own puppies and I am thanking my lucky stars.
Sophie on the other hand is a whole 'nother ball game, and is still very
determined to rid her life of this 10lb 'threat' so it's a constant watch
and constant rotating one in, two out... one out... two in, two out, one in.
Yikes. I won't go into the gory details but sheese... this is nerve
wracking. I can only hope that since she adores boy dogs that once he gets
some leg and weight and hormones going that she'll suddenly decide that he
might be worth keeping, lol. We built a huge play yard in the back for
Boomer's safety and he has a big pen in the living room for the same so that
he's a part of the family but safe from Sophie, everyone sleeps in the
bedroom in their crates at night, and I'm getting one hell of an education
on dog/pack management the hard way. I am actually very glad that my knee
blew up and that I am not on the road to the Whitehorse shows with these 3
in a van alone.
Now this whole ditty doesn't have a thing to do with 'waiting' lol, I just
realized it, but I did need to share/talk about some of the stress, thanks
for listening to me lay it out on paper, I appreciate the ear!
I'm am SO thankful Hunter is ok, I can only imagine the terror and fear you
guys were going through, especially to make it into Bend after hours of
waiting and then find nothing in the way of vet help! Thank goodness Gina
was there for you and thank goodness she's here for all of us.
