SeaJay
Hi All,
I will get to reading our list mail as time allows. Please keep writing
and interacting with each other!
I am taking a few minutes here to fill you all in on SeaJay's accident. On
Saturday mid day George was out in our pasture playing with a few of the
dogs, tossing balls. We have two piles of wooden fence posts that the dogs
love to play on, same ones we were letting the pup's play on during their
"safari days" at Brier. Apparently one of the balls George was tossing got
lodged between poles in the stack.
There was a free for all going with dogs all going after the ball and
George really could not see from where he was standing what exactly
happened. The long of the short of it is that SeaJay's left foot and leg
up to his elbow got lodged between not only the wooden poles but some metal
that our pasture renter must have piled up along side the posts just this
week with out telling us he had done this. SeaJay's foot was impaled and
quite mangled up as he struggled to get free. I was of course in the
shower when all this was going on. This has been very traumatic for George
who really is still not able to talk much about it. SeaJay was rushed
into surgery, it's to soon to say much beyond it hurts and we are still in
shock. SeaJay is not happy about the cone he's sporting on his head to
keep him from chewing at the splint and bandage but other than that he is
doing great, eating and really holding down the couch. As things develop I
will post. Your good thoughts for SeaJay are requested. :-)
Rocky on one end of the couch SeaJay on the other, makes for a real
sight... Will try to get you guys a picture of this.
Take care and please do contact us if you need to, but once again if you
are in need of an urgent reply best to call.
