he sampled the kibble....

Hussy Buns?! That was hilarious, Gina. Hey - I'll go for a fast car, dog
from hell over a hussy bun any day! HA!!!

Thanks for all of the info. If you guys saw me with Monza, I think you'd
tell me it's okay to be a little more hard with him sometimes. Okay,
okay....before Ilene tells you, Monza's a little spoiled in some aspects.
He is sitting on my lap right now - you know, they're out of lap dog stage!
Now that I have both hands free, I will say that we're shooting for some
manners here. He's not allowed to have even a whisker hitting the dining
room table and he's getting that it's a no-zone, but I did change my
original intent & I'm allowing him to sit on the couch. It's been a
trade-off and I do have consistency so he knows what are no-no's though he
gets really testy at times. Zen-like, that was a good one, too! You know
how they'll give that sidewards glance when they're going for a no-no?!

Monza does Lake Superior! Well, not quite, this was an inland, practically
uninhabited, spring-fed lake about .5 mile from my house. I thank all of
you for saying that it's okay to do the off-leash stuff. I'm just so
hesitant about him running off and something happening to him - personal
history involved here. It's great when he releases all that pent up energy!
When he's tired, he's a love bug; when he's revved, watchout! Typical
smarty-pants kid, 100 miles an hour or flat out sleeping. I'm trying to
find another trainer and clicker training might come with that. A flexi
might help, too, because he's accustomed to just how far away he can get!

I got the buster cube and the recommended tracking books in the mail today.
Monza hasn't been too enticed by the cube, but I haven't been able to get
down there and play with it myself. He learns LOTS from watching! Speaking
of the cube, I put some kibble in it and that leads to this little
ditty.......my father sampled the Wellness kibble. I'm going to be
eliminated by this list now, I just know it. He sincerely says that it
tastes really peppery, it's hot, and he's concerned. Beyond now knowing
that I come from questionable heritage, what do you think?

As long as I'm on the nutty side.....along the Zen-lines, my mom and I have
always tried to deal with his inner spirit, his motivation, and all that
jazz. For example, just like how I catch him staring at me, I stare at him
to learn him. There's a little more to it, but I figure you'll petition me
if I go further.

Off to play with that buster cube,
Lyn and Monza
