Haus update 9-10-00

Good Morning One and All,

Just thought I would let you all know that Haus has made a small 
improvement.  He is slightly ever so slightly starting to weight bare on 
his left rear leg.  There is still much neuro deficit as he also can not 
flip his foot into a righted position, stand on his knuckle,  but if I 
place that foot into position he does relax and put some weight on it.  I 
am doing some suto physical therapy with him, getting him up and helping 
him take a few steps every couple of hours.

He had a much needed bath and brush out yesterday, thank goodness I didn't 
hold this off till today our weather is very fall like cold, windy, going 
to be a heck of a rain storm coming from the south.  His spirts are good he 
enjoys having company, yesterday he had several visitors all baring gifts 
of food.  I think he likes the food part a lot but really just the 
attention is what makes him light up.  Last night I spent about an hour 
reading to him aloud out of a book that Carolyn sent me called a Pack of 
Two.  I think he really likes Lucille.  BTW this is a really great book, 
great escape...  Two thumbs up...

We are trying to keep things in perspective here as we really don't know 
what the out come is going to be.  One reason I am sharing all of this with 
each of you is to do my job as your mentor/trusted breeder.  Education on 
even the most unlikely is important.  When one is faced with such an 
emotional situation it's hard to be rational and having something to bench 
mark can be helpful.
