The Magic Web

Imagine a wonderful and magic book. It has no beginning and no end. All the stories and pictures in the world are in it, new ones appear everyday. There are games and songs and movies and adventures of all kinds. There is only one problem: it can take an hour to turn a page.

Actually, there are many problems. Some pages are torn or missing. Even if you are very careful, pages that were there yesterday will be gone in the morning.

And you can never find anything. Looking up something is like having a dream. Sometimes it is very frustrating, like when you try to dial the phone and it turns into a toaster or you find yourself in an endless corridor. The magic book is like that -- it can find hundreds of things that aren't what you are looking for. Some of them are interesting, most aren't. Sometimes you find what you want, sometimes you find what you need. Sometimes you remember the face of every man who put you here.

Often you will hate the book and throw it into the corner. But you will always be tempted to look again. Someday you will find your own story, or something that will change your life, or someone you love.
