ASSURE: Adaptive Spectrum Sharing and UsE

The primary aim of ASSURE is to explore questions related to safe spectrum sharing/coexistence: Can we enable spectrum sharing without interfering with safety critical radio systems, or where interference is quantified and its impact well understood? Can the mechanisms, algorithms and systems associated with the spectrum sharing approach be realized in a failsafe manner? Are there robust mechanisms to deal with RFI events?

Given the transformative nature of our proposed work, we will naturally also consider questions related to the fundamental utility and broader applicability of our approach: Does ASSURE spectrum sharing lead to more efficient spectrum use? Will the spectrum that is made available in this manner be practically usable by communication systems? What changes are required to NetxG devices and protocols to realize ASSURE? Can site-specific intelligence and optimization fit into a large scale (nation wide) spectrum ecosystem?
