[Testbed-admins] Fwd: Generic Image for newer hardware

I have been trying to add nodes with relatively new hardware.
Unfortunately, drivers for most of the hardware are not in the older
kernels. The first obstacle was switching over to the Linux MFS, which
was relatively painless.

However, the FreeBSD 6.2 has none of the necessary drivers. In fact,
the only known working drivers are in FreeBSD 8.
Fedora Core 6 with the 2.6.20.6 kernel seems to be having trouble with
the new hardware. The oldest known working Linux kernel is 2.6.27.8,
the one used in the MFS.

I was considering rebuilding a new kernel into the operating system,
but noticed what looked like Emulab specific items in the /boot
directory.

So my question would be is there a generic disk image with newer
kernels? Alternatively, is there a location where one may obtain
Emulab customized images that could be tailored to my installation
here?

Thanks,
